Hello,

I am Robert Mc Donald, and as you may or may not know I am Linda McDonald's son. As you might already know there was a 7.5-Richter earthquake in Haiti on Tuesday. The epicenter was within 30 miles of 3.9 million people (Haiti's total population is only 10 million total) and preliminary estimates put the casualties in the tens of thousands. The prime minister was quoted on his estimate of the casualties in Haiti, and he believed that there would be more than 100,000 dead (News reference). The total population of Santa Rosa California is only 161,496 as of 2008 (Wiki reference). Haiti is one of the poorest countries in the western hemisphere with 80% of the population living below the poverty line as of 2006 (Wiki reference). It has been three days and the Red Cross has run out of medical supplies (Second reference). If you would like to help you can call 1-800-REDCROSS (1-800-733-2767) or you can text “Haiti” to 90999 to send a $10 donation to the Red Cross which will be tacked on to your existing cell phone bill (According to the Red Cross website). You can also visit the Google Haiti relief webpage, and donate online via Google Checkout to the relief effort of your choice. If you donate to UNICEF right now 100% of your dollar goes to the relief effort, because they have promised to absorb all of the administrative costs.

McDonald Ranch is currently looking to the community for monetary donations to help the people of Haiti. All help is appreciated and if you have any questions you can email us at info@McDonaldRanch.org or call us at (707)537-0955.

Thank you for your time,
